What To Expect

A typical service will last about 65 minutes. Music led by our worship team is contemporary without compromise – meaning that we guard the content of our songs to make sure that they are biblically faithful. Each sermon is expository in nature – meaning that our Pastors take time each week to understand what each passage of Scripture means within its own context and how that transfers into modern day.

Commonly Asked Questions

What if I have kids?

We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes early to allow for parking, registering your children with Vertical Kids, and finding a seat.

What should I wear?

Casual dress is very appropriate at Vertical Church. You will see everything from sport coats to  t-shirts.

What should I bring?

If you have a Bible, bring it. If not, no problem. We have some extras that we would be happy to lend you, and we will even let you keep if you need a Bible of your own.

How long does the service last?

Our services last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

What happens during the worship service?

Generally speaking, our service begins with contemporary worship, led by a band—no choir robes or organ music. Most people stand during this time. However, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen, and you can either sing along, or just sit back and enjoy the music. You'll probably hear songs you can relate to even if you haven't been to church in years.

During the announcement part of the service, we ask that you to fill out the Register. You will receive it at the end of your aisle, and it will be handed down to each person during the service. It allows us to get to know you a bit. You can request information, ask for prayer, share any celebrations, or just indicate your presence with us. In any case, we use it to pray for you during the week. You won’t be asked to stand or raise your hand (or anything else embarrassing) just because you’re new. Nor will you have to recite anything or kneel at certain times during the service.

After our time of worship, one of our pastors will encourage and challenge you with a practical message from the Bible. You’ll be able to easily follow along through our app or in your Bible, so that you can take with you what you learned on Sunday and use and apply it during the week.

Then, like most churches we take an offering. If you’re a guest—relax! The service is on us and there’s no obligation at all on your part. Just pass the offering bag on down the row.

Finally, we close with another worship song that often times ties directly into the message so you can reflect on what you just heard.

What about after the service?

Don't feel like you have to hurry out the door. In fact, you may want to engage with our coordinators or directors, or stop by the Info table to check out some of our other ministry opportunities. If you're a first time visitor, we'd love to meet you!
